Solicitor – Small Claims Liability

SOLICITOR – SMALL CLAIMS LIABILITY 

Description 

The “Liability Property” team is part of the wider “Property” service line, which in turn sits within the firm’s “Claims Solutions Group”. The team acts for a large number of insurer clients, undertaking a wide range of work across all insurance books of business including (but not limited to) home, commercial, agriculture, motor and construction/engineering claims.

The work falls into two broad categories: (i) defendant public liability and product liability property damage claims; and (ii) policy coverage both advisory work and disputes. In short, the team deals with disputes and problems arising out of fires, floods, storms, escapes of water, escapes of oil, explosions, impact damage (basically any way in which a property might become damaged).

The team will consider applications Nationwide.

What you will do? 

• Work diligently and proactively, handling a varied workload in accordance with insurer client requirements
• Build strong, trusted relationships with insurer clients and colleagues
• Demonstrate good financial management and housekeeping on own files
• Support marketing and business development activities within the team (e.g. training/articles)
• Maintain an awareness of the firm’s core strategies and aims.

Who you are 

• A qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive or barrister (or equivalent) with some relevant experience of property insurance work
• Technically excellent with an aptitude for analysing difficult legal cases
• Able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on a day to day basis, within the team’s reporting and supervisory structure
• Commercially and financially astute
• Team-orientated, and willing to share knowledge and support other members of the team and the wider firm
• Demonstrates alignment with the firm’s cultural principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive)
