We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Architectural Technician to join our established team and to make a key contribution to delivering an increasing portfolio of projects including local authority and Rail schemes. The role requires a proven ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and multi-disciplinary team members to successfully deliver all projects whilst project managing and controlling budgetary targets.


A typical week may include:

  • Engaging with clients, end users and other key stakeholders.
  • Project programming.
  • Financial planning and management.
  • Contract administration.
  • CAD design & drafting.
  • Developing client relationships.
  • Working as part of a team and supporting other members of the team.


Experience and knowledge you will bring to this role 

  • Exceptional communication and people skills.
  • Design, specification, and project manager skills for small in-house design projects.
  • Project Management experience and Technical Advisory role for large design & build projects and the coordination between disciplines.
  • A strong technical background in the detailed design and delivery of multi-discipline projects.
  • Tender document production.
  • Initial budget cost information and programme development.
  • Assessment of requirements for CDM and prepare CDM related documentation.
  • Support to the design process in accordance with Amey’s Integrated Management System.
  • Compliance with agreed reporting and communications strategy for projects.
  • Ability to build client relationships to develop future business opportunities.
  • Experience and understanding for the need to reduce Carbon by influencing design.


Skills required for this position: 

  • Project Management – to manage all aspects throughout all RIBA stages including ability to use the MS Office suite including Microsoft Project.
  • CAD design & drafting – experience in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp & BIM on education and corporate buildings.
  • Contract Administration – experience in manging using standard forms of contract.
  • Building Surveying – building defects and remedies, report writing.
  • Reporting – writing & presentation of reports.
  • H&S knowledge – of legislation & documentation, including specific CDM duties.
  • Construction related legislation – knowledge including Building Regulations, Planning, H&S and other UK legislation.
  • Demonstrable experience in various design environments including public sector education.
  • CSCS card or ability to hold the relevant professional card.
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • DBS Enhanced – have the ability to obtain DBS Enhanced,
