Are you looking for an exciting opportunity with a global leader in door manufacturing? We’re currently looking for a fantastic Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join our team at Penrith.

In this role, you will set the standards for Engineering and operational activities. You will drive Engineering activities towards world-class performance and make continuous improvement standard practice. This role will support the site teams to ensure compliance with company legislative requirements.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Keep machinery in production
• Drive departments 5s campaigns and demonstrate 5s expansion as part of daily cadence
• Receive and issue permits to work and ensure engineering work is carried out to H&S, environmental and engineering standards
• Ensure Maintenance systems are fully utilised to optimise performance
• Support with the training and coaching with the apprentices
• Implementation of Risk Assessments and support of HASSARD assessment
• Work to daily Standard Operating Procedures
• Support Plant Managers and Leadership team to develop and deliver an engineering continuous improvement culture

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES 

• Practical experience of PLC fault finding
• Strong fault diagnosis and ratification skills
• A clear understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
• Good knowledge of PPM and continuous improvement systems
• IT Skills
• Experience in Manufacturing (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
• NVQ level 3 or equivalent
