MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
Summary
The Acorn Group consists of three companies; Acorn Group (a holding company), Acorn Engineering and AIS BMS. As a Management Accountant for the group of companies, you will be expected to work flexibly and observe all agreements and custom and practice concerning interchangeability of jobs.

Role and responsibilities:
- Support production of monthly management accounts for Acorn Group companies and Acorn Group annual statutory accounts to strict timescales.
- Management of the combined Acorn Finance Team (the Team works interchangeably on all three companies).
- Support the year end audit.
- Review general ledger transaction postings for all Acorn Group companies; month-end journals, including payroll, accruals, accrued and deferred revenue and costs.
- Ad hoc financial reporting and support on business partnering as required.
- Maintenance of balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Oversight of credit control, bank account and payment runs; management of employee expenses in Payhawk.
- Production of draft company VAT returns for review by the Head of Finance.
- Maintenance of company fixed assets to include annual physical inventory.
- Implementation and maintenance of effective internal controls and procedures.
- Implementation and maintenance of accounting systems.
- Working with other people in the company to build and promote a team environment, generate commitment, define clear objectives and highlight agreed common goals, in order to maximise the performance of the company.

- Competent IT capabilities in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Sage 200 (preferred)
- Qualified or Part Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Strong academic record
