Internal Audit Coordinator 

Location: MoD Corsham, Building 405, Corsham, Wiltshire, SN13 9ET

Contract: Full-Time | On-Site

Security Clearance: SC (UK Passport + 5-Year Checkable Work History Required)

Are you detail-oriented, audit-savvy, and ready to make a real impact in a high-profile environment? 

We’re looking for an Internal Audit Coordinator to join our team at MoD Corsham — a role that’s central to strengthening internal controls, enhancing risk management, and ensuring operational excellence.

 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities 

  • Manage and coordinate all audit activities on-site at MoD Corsham, ensuring full coverage across operational and compliance areas.
  • Identify and engage relevant personnel for audit participation, including maintenance and facilities teams.
  • Develop and issue audit plans, schedules, and documentation tailored to site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct audits and investigations, gathering evidence and assessing compliance with internal policies and health & safety regulations.
  • Write detailed audit reports with clear findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor and follow up on audit outcomes to ensure timely resolution and continuous improvement.
  • Issue compliance notices and support health & safety enforcement across the site.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to promote a culture of accountability and regulatory awareness.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and deliver internal audits across operational, regulatory, and compliance areas.
  • Collaborate with internal controls and investigation teams to shape a robust audit environment.
  • Present clear, evidence-based audit findings to senior stakeholders and the Audit Committee.
  • Track and support the implementation of corrective actions that add real value to the business.
  • Provide ad-hoc advisory support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

 

What We’re Looking For 

We’re seeking someone with a strong background in internal audit and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Internal audit experience
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards
  • NEBOSH qualification (or equivalent H&S awareness)
  • Background in Facilities Management (FM)
  • A valid UK passport
  • A 5-year checkable work history for SC clearance eligibility
