ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT ENGINEER
Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Electrical & Instrument Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
- Supports project team in the identification of interests and drivers on projects
- Provide technical I&E engineering and controls support to the projects team
- Provide oversight of the project EPC contractors to ensure designs are in compliance with the site standards and support them with the prompt answers to TQs received.
- Active participation within HAZOP, HAZIDs, design reviews and other relevant safety reviews (LOPA)
- Ensure all CAPEX projects are suitably scoped with regards to any proposed E+I activity
- Liaise with Electrical and Instrument Technical Authorities to ensure E+I proposals are aligned to the site requirements.
- Mange Functional Safety compliance on CAPEX projects, ensuring on-going conformance to Functional Safety Lifecycle requirements of IEC 61508 / 61511. including verification of design / installation and system certification.
- Ensure new E&I equipment installed are assessed for (Safety, Health, Environmental & Quality impact) with appropriate PM tasks identified
- Ensure IS calculations and loop drawings are updated for all CAPEX projects
- Ensure qualification / quality obligations are met for all project E & I activity
Requirements
- Candidates will hold a minimum degree in relevant discipline
- Hold substantial E&I Engineering experience supporting:
- Support planning
- Development, implementation & evaluation of improvements and modifications. (Management of Change)
- Involvement in projects from feasibility to handover
- Member of a professional body preferable
- 5+ years of industry experience within a process safety sector is desirable.
- Knowledge of functional safety and experience of working with IEC 61508 and 61511 standards.
- Experience in participation in HAZOP/HAZID/SIL assessment
- Knowledge of the relevant standards associated with management of Safety Instrumented Systems.
- Willingness to travel as required and attend FATs
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude with a commercial mindset, good communication skills and the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
