Job Title: Assistant Accountant

Location: Head Office, Leicestershire

Salary: £competitive plus bonus & benefits

 

Are you a detail-oriented, motivated individual looking to further your career in finance? At Next plc our Branded Accounts team work with over 900 brands, selling their products through our website and distributing them from our warehouse.

We are now seeking to recruit an Assistant Accountant in our Branded Accounts Payable team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our Finance Operations division, supporting our Retail, Online, and Total Platform Partner businesses.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Accurately raise and issue invoices to suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to resolve invoice queries efficiently.
  • Ensure VAT controls are maintained across the department.
  • Produce monthly balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end process.
  • Work closely with our extended finance team in Pune to ensure accurate invoicing and reporting.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Confident in handling challenging conversations with suppliers.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • A desire to question and challenge for continuous improvement.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience: 

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or other financial qualification (preferred but not required).
