Gas Service Engineer (Industrial)
Location: UK-wide (field-based with travel).
Salary: £40,000. – £45,000.

About Us
Operational (UK) is a specialist provider of industrial combustion and environmental solutions, working with major clients across manufacturing, chemical, and processing industries. Our expertise covers the servicing and maintenance of Regenerative Thermal Oxidisers (RTOs), VOC abatement systems, LEL monitoring, and associated plant equipment. We are now seeking an experienced Gas Service Engineer to join our growing team.
The Role
This is a field-based engineering role (Mon – Thurs), Then you will be based at our office in Runcorn every Friday in order to complete reports and admin duties from the weeks previous completed work. In this role you will be responsible for the pre-planned servicing and maintenance of industrial combustion and process equipment. This will involve servicing and maintenance of Regenerative Thermal Oxidisers, industrial gas burners and LEL systems.
Key Responsibilities
· Service, maintain, and fault-find on RTOs, gas burners, LEL monitoring, and related equipment.
· Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and emergency breakdown response (when feasible).
· Conduct combustion analysis, safety checks, and compliance testing.
· Accurately complete service reports and maintain documentation to company and regulatory standards.
· Travel to client sites across the UK (occasional overseas work may be required).
· Proven experience working with industrial gas burners, combustion systems, or process industries.
· Gas Safe qualifications (COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1, or equivalent).
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills on industrial systems.
· Understanding of industrial controls, instrumentation, and electrical interfaces.
· Full UK driving licence (maximum 3 points).
· Flexibility to travel and stay away when required (on average 2-3 nights per week).
· Experience with RTOs, VOC abatement, or LEL monitoring equipment would be beneficial but not a necessity as all training will be provided for the right candidate.
· Knowledge of PLCs, control systems, and industrial automation would be beneficial.
· Confined space and/or health & safety training, again would be beneficial but all training and courses will be fully paid for by the company for the right candidate.
